  • 2012...ok not really....*WARNING*

*Warning. This blog may contain material inappropriate for children and sensitive and/or small minded people.*

So drunken converstaions with my homies usually turn in to philosophic and political debates....or just throwing down some Rock Band and/or Guitar Hero all night...Last Saturday it was alot of the former. The topics jumped all over the place.
    There was 2012

bla bla bla...there was alot more but these are the main points that will allow me to say the things I want to say...and away we go..

Have you ever felt like maybe you weren't here for any normal purposes? I guess I should say earthly purposes...Some people are here to invent the paper clip or the stapler or comic books or Fallout 3 (giggle)... Have ever thought maybe you have a greater purpose than that? That's how I want to begin this blog. Please leave me an answer to this question....

Anyways...you know in Men In Black it was looking at the stars and feeling like there was something more....like there was a reason that you felt comfortable thinking about things being out there. It doesn't bother you to think that we are not alone in the universe. Part of you knows that there is no way that we could be. In infinite space there is something alse there. Just imagine...

    stars Pictures, Images and Photos

How could there not be more than us? I don't know about Planet X (aka Nibiru) that is supposed to come swinging through to say hi in 2012 or aliens coming to hug our face and basically have sex with our throats to create little aliens but we can't be alone. Its impossible (or illogical). Space IS the final frontier and something that we know NOTHING about. We can see some things with our telescopes but just imagine what we can't see....

Nevermind aliens...what about here on good ole Earth? So much of the ocean is unexplored how do we know something doesn't live here under the ocean or in the earth? Things like this always get dismissed as science fiction but how do we know for sure? Or do we know that it is actually true and it gets dismissed so the public will feel "safe".

These are the things that I think about...These are the thoughts that dominate my mind all the time. Sometimes its hard to concentrate and focus on normal life because I am always expecting the unexpected to happen. I have always been like this. Since as young as I can remember.

I have also always felt like I was here for another reason. This could just be me being paranoid or wanting to make myself feel important, but I am here for something big. I will be a part of something huge and groundbreaking. I will be a player in the battle of good vs evil. Here is a reason as to maybe why I feel this way....

This is story that I have told friends before but I always leave out one part, for fear that someone may think I am crazy. So I have tried to omit it from memory and pretend that it never happened. The fact is that though I try to forget my mind wont let me. It stays in my head and....well....let me tell the short story first...

I was in high school and I was coming home from a basketball game and dance. It was good night. Things were rolling and taking a strange turn in my life at this point. It was the moment that my life was taking shape and I was starting to feel that I knew where my life was going. I had a girlfriend that I knew I didn't want to be with. I knew the girl that i wanted be with for the rest of my life I just had to get her. That was the night it started to happen. So in other words it was a good night. I left the dance in high spirits. It was late. I was looking forward to getting home and telling my mom all about it. As I was driving home I was about a mile and a half from my house and all of a sudden my radio went to static (cd player not FM radio) and my car started sputtering....(This next part is what stays in my head and always replays in my dreams) I muttered under breath "What the F*ck" and then it gets really bright and I glance to my right into the open field (what was on the left side you ask......a church) where a bright light is rushing toward me and right when it hits me I got warm and I heard a voice say "YOUUU" in a very loud whisper. Right when the voice ended so did the light and everything. My CD player picked up right where it left off. My car started driving perfect and everything was normal....

Most nights I wake up because that replays in my head. Nothing ever changes. Same car. Same me. Same music (Even Flow by Pearl Jam). Always the same. Except as soon as the voice ends I wake up. Its not a wake up where something scares you and you jump out of bed. Its peaceful. I only open my eyes. I'm not scare though. I'm the opposite. I feel safe. Even after it happened I wasn't scared. I startled but not scared. I felt different. I felt better. I felt good.

When I got home I knew what I had to do. I emailed the girl I wanted "we shall call her Rebecca" and told her how I felt. I told her I always did feel that way and told her that I was going to leave my girlfriend and I wanted to be with her. I may not have done that if what happened hadn't happened...It made me feel brave. Courageous. Like I had stolen Links third of the Triforce.

    tri Pictures, Images and Photos

Divine intervention? Perhaps... A sign giving me courage for the future? Possibly.. Life changing moment? Definitely!

I don't know what it was that happened and i stoppped questioning it long ago. All I know is that I most likely would be where I am now if not for that. maybe i didn't hear the voice. Maybe I imagined it. Maybe I did hear it and that night I became chosen. Whatever the reason or explaination I don't care. We can cross that bridge when we come to it.

So this has been a brief glance deep inside my head and something it feels good to finally get the whole story out there. Think what you but I know it happened and I have never been the same since. Now....some pictures that have today with my story!!

  • I seem to actually want to blog lately...apparently its a trend now..

So tentatively this is categorized under "BLOGGING" because I am not real sure where its going.

Shit goes wrong. People tell you that you can't use this place because your script is too vulgar. People might over hear. What is the huge deal with censorship? Everyone tries to take away the right of freedom of speech. Is it even a right anymore? If I drop an eff bomb in the wrong place they will kick me out. Well I say....

    Photobucket

I know The Gooch is very pro censorship. I just don't see the point of censorship. Lets censor our children's life while they are young so when they get old enough they will see that we held alot of things back from them and even lied to them about things so they will hate us and rebel when they are older. Awesome idea!!

out of your vulcanmind Pictures, Images and Photos

    Seriously thats what's needed.

( I had no idea I was going to be babbling about freedom of speech when I started this)

It will make for some very interesting children raising when I have children since my wife is VERY pro censorship and I am VERY against it. I'm not saying I am going to let my child sit around waste his/her life way watching porn and drinking booze (BODEAN) but I am not going to let my child not watch a movie because it has sex or language or violence or anything like that in it. That's ridiculous. I wasn't raised like that so I am not going to raise my children like that. My wife however was sooo.....that's what she believes is right. I'm not going to say that she is wrong but you do have a tendency to want to raise your children the way that you were raised, or exact opposite if you had a horrible childhood...

    Anyways, less serious matters now....

i hope this is me someday Pictures, Images and Photos

    Jager and ruffees.....

Tiberius cologne Pictures, Images and Photos

    Seriously...? I want some....

han solo art Pictures, Images and Photos

Again.....seriously...? Do you really think this guy would NOT shoot first?

So the fourth of July....not my favorite holiday. Really don't know how much of a holiday it really even is. Just a reason for people to "get drunk and blow shit up". I worked at a firework stand and I can't tell you how many times I heard that exact phrase from people buying fireworks.

Anyways..I just finshed watching the show THRESHOLD.threshold Pictures, Images and Photos

Pretty good show. I think it just came out at the wrong time. I bet it would make it today. More shows like this are thriving. It would have a good run on the sci-fi channel at the very least. Three shows came out roughly the same time. The aforementioned THRESHOLD....

    There was INVASION

    Invasion Pictures, Images and Photos

    and there was SURFACE...

    Surface Pictures, Images and Photos

After seeing them all finally....after 4 years of wanting to see them I gotta say... Each show deserved a second season. Threshold didn't even get that. It got 13 episodes. 13 solid episodes and the plug was pulled. I think I know why each didn't appeal to the masses and was subsequently pulled from TV.

    *START RANT*

    First - THRESHOLD

THRESHOLD was too smart for people. Same reason some alot of people don't like one of my favorite movies (Prince of Darkness). It didn't spoon feed you information. It made the viewer pay attention to what was happening every week and piece things together by themselves. People dont like that. Show that supposedly do that now don't even do that and weren't half as smart as this show. Shows like CSI and Law and Order are very formulaic in what they do. Watch a few episodes and you will know what I am talking about. Pinning the killer is very easy to do on one those show because they put them out there for you to blatantly see it. Also, the production values of the show were off the charts. It literally looked like a movie every week. Cost was way too high no doubt. A show that costs that much and doesn't have time to draw and audience into its overarching story doesn't have a chance. *here's a tip how to draw the audience in though. Put a polar bear in there for no reason. It worked for LOST*

    Second - SURFACE

SURFACE really never had a chance. It was too big. If it didn't go under after the first season the second season would have drowned it anyways. It was actually my least favorite of the three and I have a pretty good conclusion as to why it didn't make it. The "creatures". Once they were seen every episode all the time the show lost its appeal. I know why they did it though. They had BIG plans for the second season. You have to get to the second season first though. The acting was great. The casting was really good in my opinion. This show demise was actually a little harder to peg. It wasn't as smartly done as THRESHOLD and the budget wasn't too large. It wasn't until they starting showing the creatures and underground labs and such that the budget started to outweigh the viewers and they probably started to lose viewers once the mystery was gone. Anyways....RIP SURFACE....

    Lastly - INVASION

Without a doubt the best of all three. It got a full run and wasn't picked up for the second season. What a bummer too...I feel bad for the people who watched that series all the way through and then seen it not get picked up for a second season. Which it nearly did get picked up by Sci-Fi, oops sorry its SyFy... This show is one of the best first seasons of any show I have ever seen. The cast, the effects, the story, the setting, everythimg was wonderful....The absolute only reason it wasn't picked up...budget. The show was too expensive because of the setting and the story they has too maintain. It had the highest budget of any show on at the time. The ratings weren't bad either. Shows with worse ratings have been picked up before and since. If you are a fine of good science fiction storytelling or just good stories in general. Watch this show. Plus it has this guy!!POSTED to men_daily. tyler labine. sock. reaper. cwtv.com Pictures, Images and Photos

  • Lights....Camera...wait hold on for the action....

So...this blog may not be as random as you (or I) would like but.....being a (sort of) film maker like I am I wanted to shed some light on movies that inspire me in one way or another. I shall start with...of course...

    Photobucket

The Overlord King of all movies in my opinion. 12 characters in and alien set in the antarctic in a single location yet the tension and fear the builds is amazing. It really makes me think that there is no situation scarier than this. The killer alien could have killed my best friend and be standing right next to me and I would never know unless it wanted me to. Isolation and mistrust guide the movie and the sci-fi horror genre became my favorite because of this movie alone...

Next is another movie from John Carpenter...

    Photobucket

The mother of all slasher films (although one more shall be featured on my list). Certainly the best slasher film ever made. No other slasher film holds a candle. The eerieness of Micheal is made even worse by the amazing score and surprising lack of blood. One shot of blood in the entire film. This film shows that not only is blood and gore not important but a movie can be better without it. Replace blood with a great score and masterful directing and you have a hit!

Sticking with slasher movies here is the only other one on my list...

    Photobucket

Not the original slasher film but it is the father of the modern slasher film. Halloween used alot of things used in this film, jason used some of those....then freddy...and so on...The big "twist" was a revolutionary and amazing. So amazing in fact it was later completely ripped off by "When a Stranger Calls". Another example of great soundtrack and great directing taking a simple concept and making a masterful film.

    Next...another classic...
    Photobucket

I prefer Aliens over Alien. I know. Blasphemy. No, blasphemy would be preferring Alien Resurrection over any of the others. Aliens has a little bit of everything. Including Bill Paxton!! It takes some of the claustrophobia of the first one and throws in the "marines in space" attitude. It makes for a nearly perfect movie. Watch directors cut though. Great action, wonderful characters, improved story over the first one. It makes it a definite must for anyone who wants to go into the sci-fi horror genre.

    Now a little departure....
    Photobucket

If you haven't seen spiral then do it. It's amazing storytelling. Some of the best I have ever seen. Amazing photography. Acting is top notch..and its directed by Adam Green and Joel David Moore. Adam Green directed the awesome Hatchet and Joel David Moore, well he was the guy that kept talking like a robot in Grandma's Boy. Proof that you don't have to be John Carpenter or Bob Clark or James Cameron to direct a great movie. All you have to do is care about the product you are making. P.S. It has Zachary Levi, who is gonna be a huge star one of the days.

Now it seems like all i like is horror so lets take a HUGE (thats what she said) departure from Spiral with...

    Photobucket

Yeah, serious departure. This brings me to timing. The most important part of comdedy isn't even a funny joke as much as it the timing and delivery of the joke. This movie has that. Ryan Reynolds has impeccible timing. Kal Penn works perfectly with Reynolds to perform as a great comic duo. Working well with other actors is important. Actors the do a great job together and have chemistry can make a movie or even a series of movies.....

Which brings me to the next one, which is a TV show....

    Photobucket

Yeah..Supernatural.. So maybe I am a fanboy...but without the chemistry between Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles there wouldn't have been a show. Two characters who are complete opposites now going into season 5 as they started out in season 1. The belief that they could really be brothers is what makes it so strong. Acting can only go so far...They play off each other so well that it really makes the show.

One more...this is a movie that sets a great setting and is one of my favorite movies just for the feel it brings to the table...

    Photobucket

Dagon....H.P. Lovecraft = genius... and then when you take a story of his and putthe amazing Stuart Gordon behind the camera then of course you have a hit. Anyways, I dare you to watch this movie and not feel the hairs on your neck stand...and honestly, there is no reason for it.. Nothing will happen to scare you, you just can't help but have that feeling of dread. Once again a great director can do that and when you give him such great source material to work with...yeah...

and in going with the movie theme today....

    It's so good lovin' somebody
And that somebody loves you back

To be loved and be loved in return
It's the only thing that my heart desires
Just appreciate the little things I do
Oh, you're the one who's got me inspired
Keep on liftin', liftin' me higher

    So good, good lovin' somebody
And that somebody loves you back
    It's so good needin' somebody
And that somebody needs you back

We can build a world of love, a life of joy
Make our goal each other's happiness
I will do for you anything that I can
Oh, everyday I wanna do a little more
Do a little more, just a little bit more

It's so good, good lovin' somebody
And that somebody loves you back and that's a fact
    It's so good wantin' somebody
And that somebody wants you back

    Said it's so good

    Oh...ho...

To be loved and be loved in return
It's the only thing that my heart desires
Just appreciate the little things I do
Oh, you're the one who's got me inspired
Keep on liftin', liftin' me higher

    So good lovin' somebody
And that somebody loves you back and that's a fact
    It's so good needin' somebody
And that somebody needs you back

    Now 60/40
    Talkin' 'bout a 5-/50 love

Said it's so good lovin' somebody
And that somebody loves you back, yeah

    Said now 70/30
    Now 60/40
Talkin' 'bout a 5-/50 love, yeah

It's so good, good lovin' somebody
And that somebody loves you back, yeah
    It's so good, good

I'm so glad that there's you
I've experienced over and over when
    I've given 80% and she's given 20%
    Now she's givin' 70% and I'm givin' 30
But you just don't know how it feels to have somebody
That you can share your life
Somebody that you don't mind talkin' to
Somebody that you don't mind goin' the middle of the road
I know a lot of guys today they wish they had somebody just like you
I don't know when the last time I told you
But girl, you make me so very happy
I think we've got something that a lot of people don't seem to have
Talkin' 'bout a 50/50 love, yeah

  • A blog of absolutely no importance....

First of all, there should be a category of "RANDOM" to put a blog under because I serioulsy think that this blog will not fit in to just one, if any at all, of those categories they let you choose from.

This blog will jump around from one topic to the next and in between each topic ( or in the middle of one) there will be a picture that probably makes no sense and doesn't relate to anything.

    Submarine

See what I mean? Anyways PhotobucketI will start off with one of my biggest pet peaves in the world. Tomatoes. Yup. Those things. Nothing angers me more than tomatoes being considered a fruit. Thats absolute bullshit. How can you lump the awesomeness of an apple with the appaulingness of a tomatoe. I don't get it.

While I'm on the subject here is ten things I hate (in no particular order)

    Tomatoes
    Fakers
    Emo
    Romantic Comedies
    Tara Reid
    Pop music
    Jailbait
Micheal Bay movies (The Island was okay i guess)
